A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
ADOPTING A DECLARATION IN OBSERVANCE OF
NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK
6 WHEREAS, water is our most precious natural resource,
7 and;

WHEREAS, the entire state has experienced three
9 consecutive dry years, and the drought has demonstrated the
10 importance of water conservation for the health and welfare
11 of all communities, and;
12 WHEREAS, a safe and abundant drinking water supply for
13 the residents and visitors of the South Lake Tahoe community

is of the highest concern to the staff and directors of the
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT, and;
WHEREAS, residents, local government and water agencies
must work together to ensure quality water to meet the needs
of our community, and;
WHEREAS, Drinking Water Week is observed nationally May
6-12, 1990, to recognize the need of increased understanding
of programs that conserve and protect our water resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors
of South Tahoe Public Utility District that May 6-12, 1990
is declared:
NATIONAL DRINKING WATER WEEK
throughout the community, and we urge all citizens to endorse
and support water conservation efforts and become more water

on the 19th day of April, 1990, by the following vote:
