RESOLUTION NO. 2171
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION
OF SANITATION AGENCIES
WHEREAS, the California Association of Sanitation Agencies,
(CASA) has in its membership a conglomerate of large and small
agencies and districts whose primary function is to provide sanita-
tion (sewer) services to their customers in the interest of health
and welfare and in a cost effective manner, and
WHEREAS, the By Laws of CASA states as the first objective
of the Association: "to create and improve programs in order to
promote the welfare of the members and electorate ", and
WHEREAS, a very concerted effort was instigated by the
membership of CASA to get the facts on the excessive and costly
requirements for water quality being placed upon the sanitation
agencies and districts in the Tahoe Basin, and the due process
being allowed those agencies by the Regional and State Water
Quality Boards, and
WHEREAS, a position statement by the association was re-
affirmed and adopted by the membership that the State and Regional
Water Quality Boards should use no factors other than water quality
in establishing waste discharge requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the sanitation agencies
in the Lake Tahoe Basin extend their commendation and appreciation
to the CASA membership, executive officers and executive staff for
the assistance to the small districts of Lake Tahoe and other small
districts of the State.
