Resolution No. 2168r r RESOLUTION NO. 2168 OF SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT ESTABLISHING THE ALLOWABLE SEWER UNIT CON14ECTIONS DURING CALENDAR YEAR 1980 WHEREAS, the Consulting Panel on Wastewater Reclamation Plant Improvements has, in its report dated October 30, 1979, recommended... "l. Additional sewer unit connections sufficient to provide needed funds for the Head Start Program through connection charges would be allowed immediately, plus the cancelled per- mits from the 1978 and 1979 alloca- tions"; and WHEREAS, the Consulting Panel has further cautioned the Board of Directors that... "5. The District must be prepared to rigidly control the allocation of additional connections in relation to demonstrated plant capacity. "; and WHEREAS, the District's Manager /Engineer has determined that the remaining plant capacity is 0.447 mgd or 4,961 sewer units; and WHEREAS, the District's Manager /Engineer has determined that 862 sewer units at the connection charge of $580 /sewer unit is needed to provide the funds for the Head Start Plant Improve- ments; and WHEREAS, the District's Manager /Engineer has recommended that the allowable sewer connections during calendar year 1980 be limited to 862 sewer units plus cancelled permits from the 1978 and 1979 allocations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Directors of South Tahoe Public Utility District as follows: 1. On the basis of the Consulting Panel's and Manager/ Engineer's findings and recommendations, a 1980 calendar year allocation is authorized for 862 (eight hundred sixty -two) sewer units plus all cancelled sewer units from the 1978 and 1979 �w allocation programs. 2. Said sewer units are assigned to the City of South Lake Tahoe and the County of El Dorado pursuant to City Ordinance No. 524 and County Ordinance No. 1946 as amended. -2- . ti 3. The South Tahoe Public Utility District Board of Directors reserves the right to assign additional sewer units outside the Allocation Program for the purposes of: correcting existing water quality problems; correction of billing accounts on existing connections; and providing for public facilities.
