A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PENDING APPLICATION
TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION
CONCERNING THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY AND AMENDMENT
TO THE SPHERE OF INFLUENCE WHICH WAS SUBMITTED
ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 26, 1993 PURSUANT
TO RESOLUTION NO. 2578
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 2578, approved and adopted
August 5, 1993, an application was made to the EI Dorado County Local Agency
Formation Commission (hereinafter "LAFCO") on or about August 26, 1993 for the
purpose of requesting annexation of certain territories into the South Tahoe Public
Utility District boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District has been advised that
it would be desirable to amend its application with LAFCO to include certain "islands"
which are either contained within the current boundaries of South Tahoe Public Utility
District or which would be created after the annexation requested in the application
currently pending before LAFCO; and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District wishes to conform to
the LAFCO policy concerning the creation of logical boundary lines and the prevention
of the formation of islands, peninsulas, or other irregular boundary lines when possible;
and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District desires to continue the
proceedings commenced on or about August 26, 1993 with LAFCO under the Cortese-
Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, commencing with Section
56,000 of the California Government Code for the annexation of territories.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of Directors

1. This resolution shall authorize an amendment to the application

currently pending with the EI Dorado County Local Agency Formation Commission for
the annexation of property. The amended application shall amend the request for the
property to be annexed to include the following : (a) Three "islands" (commonly
described as the Golden Bear Park Area, the Barton Meadows, and Bijou Golf Course)
which are currently found within the District boundaries; and (b) An area outside the
current boundary of the South Tahoe Public Utility District but totally surrounded by
the boundary proposed in our initial application to LAFCO and the California/Nevada
state line. Description of the areas to be added to the pending application before
LAFCO is delineated on a map designated as Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
2.' The amendment to the application for annexation may also be
considered a concurrent amendment to the application for amendment to the District's
15 sphere of influence.

All portions of the current pending application before the Local I
Agency Formation Commission shall remain the same with the exception of the
addition of the areas described above and delineated in Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
