MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District met in a Special Session on October
28, 1998, 9:00 a.m., District Office, 1275 Meadow Crest Drive, South Lake Tahoe, California.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
President Jones, Directors Strohm, and Gochnauer.
Director Wallace arrived late. Director Mosbacher
was absent (due to her attendance at the TRPA
Grazing meeting).
ROLL CALL

Baer, Solbrig, Sharp, Schroeder, Hydrick, Forsythe.
ITEMS FOR BOARD ACTION
This item was added by an Addendum to the
Agenda. All noticing requirements for this
addition were met.
Ken Schroeder reported that on October 20, the
District's three underground fuel tanks were
inspected by El Dorado County. Corrective
measures are required to be completed within
thirty days to bring them up to current standards.
A small diesel spill is evident at one of the tanks
and clean-up must be done as soon as possible.

District crews will perform much of the work; staff
will solicit quotes from various contractors who
would be able to perform portions of the work within
the required time frame.
Moved Strohm/Second Gochnauer/Wallace and
Mosbacher Absent/Passed to authorize General
Manager to select contractor to perform correc-
tive repairs in an amount not to exceed $25,000.
(Director Wallace arrived at this point in the meeting.)

ACTION / REPORT ON ITEMS DISCUSSED DURING CLOSED SESSION
The Board selected the law firm of Miller & Sher
to provide specialized legal services, and directed
the General Manager to negotiate a contract with
them as soon as possible. District General Counsel
(Kevin Neese, Hatch and Parent) will be directed to
review and monitor litigation activities and strategies
on the District's behalf.
