MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District met in a special session,
August 28, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at the District Office, located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive,
South Lake Tahoe, California.

diesel particulate filters.

John Thiel requested the Board receive public input on the Draft PUBLIC HEARING
Initial Study / Initial Environmental Checklist; adopt a mitigated ANGORA CREEK SEWER
negative declaration of environmental impact; approve the RELOCATION PROJECT
project for implementation and authorize the filing of a Notice
of Determination with the State Clearinghouse and EI Dorado.

of the project, initial actions, environmental analysis, summary of PUBLIC HEARING:

President Schafer opened the public hearing at 2:10 p.m. to
receive public comments on the draft initial study and initial
environmental checklist for the Angora Creek Sewer Relocation
project. No public comments were received and the public
hearing was closed at 2:11 p.m.
Moved Schafer/ Second Jones / Passed UnanimouslX to adopt
a mitigated negative declaration of environmental impact;
approve the project for implementation; and authorize the filing
of a notice of determination with the State Clearinghouse and
EI Dorado County.
Three bids for this project were received at the August 27, 2013, ANGORA CREEK SEWER
bid opening. Tom Haen Company, Inc. was the apparent low RELOCATION PROJECT
bidder with minor deviations.
Moved Cefalu / Second Sheehan / Passed Unanimousl�to
award bid to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, Tom
Haen Company, Inc. in the amount of $234,405, and to waive
the minor deviations that were found.
In June, District Crews completed the Pioneer Trail Services PIONEER TRAIL SERVICES
Relocation Project, with the exception of repairs to the pave- RELOCATION PROJECT
ment and drainage features. The City is currently working on
their Pedestrian Improvement Project, and has obtained a quote
from their Contractor, Granite Construction, to perform these
repairs for the District. A draft agreement between the City
and District was prepared stating the District would reimburse
the City for costs for repairs to pavement and drainage
features. Additionally, staff requested authorization to make
any material changes to the terms of the Agreement as deems
necessary.

authorize District to enter into an agreement with the City of
South Lake Tahoe to provide repairs to paving in an amount up
to $125,000; and, authorize staff to make any immaterial changes
to the terms of the Agreement as staff deems necessary.
President Schafer reminded Board members of the workshop BOARD MEMBER REPORT
to be held on Thursday, September 5th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
