Resolution No. 1351 $ 4 § ? 8 9 10 11 12 15 14 15 18 17 18 19 20 21 22 24 25 28 29 SO $1 RESOLUTION NO. 135 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PORTIONS OF FORCE MAIN-TV-22 AND TRUNK SEWERS TV-7 and TV-8 U. S. HIGHWAY 50; FIRST STREET TO JOHNSON AVENUE. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of South Tahoe Public Utility District has adopted drawings and specifications for the construction of portions of force main TV-22 and trunk sewers TV-7 and TV-8, U. S. Highway 50, First Street to Johnson Avenue, for the South Tahoe Public Utility District, all as more parti~arly shown on the drawings and specifications prepared by Brown and Caldwell, Engineers, on file in said District office, and all in addition to the existing facilities as said system existed on February 20, i · 959, and WHEREAS, the voters of said South Tahoe Public Utility District, on March 24, 1959, have approved the incurrence of a $2,500,000 bonded indebtedness in connection with said improvement~. and WHEREAS, said Board of Directors desires to call for bids to be publicly opened and read on May 21, 1959; now therefore: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District as follows: 1. That the Clerk and Ex-Officio Secretary be authorized to advertise for bids in the LAKE TAHOE NEWS, a newspaper of general circulation, duly adjudicated as such, and situate within the South Tahoe Public Utility District, said authorization to conform to the notice to bidders for construction of portions of force main TV-22 and trunk sewers TV-7 and TV-8 U. S. Highway 50; First Street to Johnson Avenue, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. HIGHWAY 50; FIRST STREET TO JOHNSON AVENUE Sealed proposals or bids for the "Construction of Portions of Force Main TV-22 and Trunk Sewers TV-7 and TV-8 ', U S Highway 50, First Street to Johnson Avenue, for the South Tahoe Public Utility District will be received at the offices of the District at the Clark Building, Tahoe Valley, California, until 4:00 P. M., Pacific Daylight Saving Time, on May 21, 1959, at which time, or as soon thereafter as possible, they will be publicly opened and read. Bids shall be addressed to the South Tahoe Publi~ Utility District and shall be enclosed in an envelope clearly marked "Proposal for Construction of Portions of Force Main TV-22 and Tr~_uk Sewers TV-7 and TV-8, U. S. Highway 50; First Street to Johnson Avenue". The work consists of construction of approximately 3,385 feet of 16-inch sewage force main, 2,235 feet of 15-inch trunk sewers and miscellaneous connecting sewers and appurtenances. Drawings and specifications may be inspected at the Builder's Exchange, 666 Mission Street, San Francisco; at the offices of the Daily Pacific Builders, 465 lOth Street, San Francisco; at the Builder's Exchange, 190 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland; at the offices of Brown and Caldwell, 66 Mint Street, San Francisco, California; and at the offices of South Tahoe Public Utility District, Clark Building, Tahoe Valley, California. Copies of the drawings and specifications may be obtained at the office of Brown and Caldwell or at the offices of the South Tahoe Public Utility District upon payment of $10.00, of which $5.00 will be refunded upon return of the drawings and specifications in good condition within 15 days after the bid opening. 1 $ 4 § ? 8 10 il 12 15 14 1§ 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 24 2§ 27 28 $o 31 DATED: May~7, 19~9, Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier, s check or bidder's bond made payable to the order of the South Tahoe Public Utility District in an amount not less than ten per cent (10%) of the bid as guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract, if awarded the work. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a Faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price, and a Material and Labor Bond in an amount equal to fifty per cent (50%) of the contract price. In accordance with the provisions of the California Labor Code, the District Board has ascertained the general prevailing rates of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be performed, for laborers and for each craft or type of workman and mechanic employed in the execution of the contract, and the gen- eral prevailing rate for legal holidays and overtime.
