RBSOLUTION NO. 2580 A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT TO GOVERNOR PETB WILSON SENATOR TIM LBSLIE AND ASSEMBLYMAN DAVID KNOWLES BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public < Utility District, County of El Dorado, State of California, as follows: WHEREAS, the property owners within the Lake Tahoe basin support, in part through their property taxes, the costly waste- 12 water treatment and export mandates of the Porter-Cologne Act; and 13 WHEREAS, the special districts such as South Tahoe Public 14 Utility District rely on the revenue derived from its property 15 taxes to continue to implement the requirements of the Porter- 16 Cologne Act to preserve and protect water quality and maintain the 17 beautiful Lake Tahoe region as a state treasure, used by all 18 Californians; and 19 WHEREAS, Assemblyman David Knowles introduced Assembly 20 Bill (AB) 1224, Senator Tim Leslie amended and supported AB 1224 21 and Governor Pete wilson signed into law AB 1224 which guarantees 22 Tahoe's special districts the continued revenue from property taxes 23 collected within the Tahoe Basin. 24 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors 25 of South Tahoe Public Utility District, a public agency in the 26 County of El Dorado, State of California as follows: ~ 27 XXX XXX XXX X 28 XXXXXXXXXX .
