A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION FROM THE
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District as
5 WHEREAS, Senator Barbara Boxer expressed her strong support for the South Tahoe
6 Public Utility District export pipeline project and this District wishes to express appreciation for
7 having a liaison at the Federal level who listens to her constituents and is able to move forward
8 in the face of challenge; and
9 WHEREAS, on August 14, 1996, Senator Boxer personally visited the South Tahoe Public
10 Utility District's export system project sites, taking the opportunity to see firsthand the project's
11 environmental importance; and
WHEREAS, Senator Barbara Boxer was successful in securing federal appropriations for
the project thereby ensuring protection of the valuable resource, Lake Tahoe, from dangerous
wastewater spills and enabling the project to proceed in a more expeditious manner; and
WHEREAS, staff members Rob Alexander, Linda Del Gado, and Jordan Royer have.
16 provided invaluable and exceptional assistance;
17 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the South Tahoe Public Utility District and the
18 local community hereby expresses thanks and gratitude to Senator Boxer and her staff for
19 recognizing the unique ecological region and for their perseverance in securing funding for the
20 export pipeline replacement project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a duly held regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the
South Tahoe Public Utility District on October 17, 1996, by the following vote:
