RESOLUTION NO. 2673-98
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
WHEREAS,
GERALD L. SILLS
was an employee of the South Tahoe Public Utility District for 19 years; and
WHEREAS, as the wastewater treatment plant's Chief Plant Operator, he led in the
conversion to filtered secondary level of treatment, which reduced the District's operating cost
8 by about $1 million annually; and
9 WHEREAS, Gerald L. Sills participated on the team that the Environmental Protection
10 Agency proclaimed "Outstanding Operations for 1994," thus bestowing great honor on the
11 District; and
12 WHEREAS, Gerald L. Sills' stories and tall tales are part of the history and folklore of
13 the District forever;
14 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the South Tahoe Public Utility District
15 does hereby express its deep appreciation for his many years of public service in the
16 protection of Lake Tahoe from pollution; and
17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public
18 Utility District directs the Filter Building at the wastewater treatment plant be renamed the
19 "Gerald L. Sills Memorial Building."
20 PASSED AND UNANIMOUSLY adopted by the Board of Directors of the
21 South Tahoe Public Utility District, this 2nd day of April, 1998.
