A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEERS AND ATTORNEYS
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 1962-1
RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public
Utility District~ E1 Dorado County, California, that
D~EREAS, this Board has determined to undertake proceedings
pursuant to appropriate assessment and' assessment bond acts for
the acquisition and construction of public improvements in said
Dis tric t;
¥~[HEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be
served by appointing and employing engineers and attorneys for the
preparation and conduct of said proceedings and work in connection
with said improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That CLAIR A. HILL & ASSOCIATES, Redding, California, be,
and it is hereby, appointed as Engineer of Work and employed to do
and perform all engineering work necessary in and for said pro-
ceedings, including all preliminary surveying, preparation of
report, plans, profiles, specifications, estimate of costs, dia-
gram, assessment, setting grade stakes and super~ision of work;
that its compensation be, and it is hereby, fixed at a reasonable
engineering fee for all of said engineering, said fee to be fixed
and approved by the Board of Directors of said District, and to be
assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings.
2. ~at the District Engineer of said District is hereby
directed to examine and approve the engineering documents, and to
provide such inspection of the construction of said improve~,~ents
and to accept said work ~..Jhen done to his satisfaction. Tl~e cost
of said inspection shall be assessed as an incidental expense of
said proceedings.
3. That the law firm of ~.;fILSON, HARZFELD, JONES & MORTON,
San Mateo, California, be, and they are hereby, appointed a~d
employed to do and perform all legal services required in the
conduct of said proceedings, including the preparation of all
papers not required to be prepared by the Engineer, examining and
approving the engineering documents and advising the Engineer in
the preparation of his work, advising all District officials on
all matters relating thereto when called upon, and furnishing
their legal opinion on the validity of said proceedings and bonds,
and that their compensation be, and it is hereby, fixed as pro-
vided in Paragraph 5, below.
4. That the law office of JOHN C. ~IDMAN, Placerville,
California, be, and he is hereby, appointed and employed to assist
said Wilson, Harzfeld, Jones & Morton in the conduct of said
proceedings and providing advice to the District officials in
relation thereon, and his compensation be fixed as provided in
Paragraph 5, below.
5. For such legal services to be rendered, the total com-
pensation shall be the sum of ten per cent (lOX) of that portion
of the assessment which is for right of service from facilities
paid as assessment,s by others, out of which sum shall be paid by
the attorneys all administrative, ~'~ ~ ' ~'

directly attributable to annexation and to that portion of the
assessment proceedi~gs comprised of back taxes of the areas to be
annexed. For services to be rendered in. connection with that
portion of the assessment proceedings directly attributable to
the cost of installation and construction of sewer lines to
properties included within the assessment district which do not
presently face an existing sewer line, the to~a! compensation
shall be two and one-half per cent (2-1/2fi) of the balance of the
assessment, and shall not include any engineering or administra-
tive costs.
6. That there is excepted from said services all services
of the nature of right-of-way agent or in any eminent domain

proceedings. There is also excepted any other litigation, said
attorneys to be paid on a reasonable fee basis for any such
matters so referred to them.
7. There is also excepted from said services any services of
a clerical nature delegated to any of them to be performed, such
as mailing notices of hearing and notices to pay assessments,
other than mailing notice of sale of bonds, or any services
rendered in the preparation of any auditor's records of unpaid
assessments for use in posting to the annual tax roll, or in the
preparation of any bond registers; said attorneys to be paid on
a reasonable clerical fee basis for any services rendered in any
such matters referred to them.
8. The fees provided to be paid herein shall be assessed
as an incidental expense of the proceedings.

the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District,
