A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT URGING THE
EL DORADO COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION TO ADOPT
STANDARDS FOR SEWAGE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL FOR
ALL SUBDIVIDED LANDS WITHIN THE SPHERE OF IN-
FLUENCE OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California and the
Governor of the State of Nevada, along with their representative
staffs, met November 11, 1965, and determined "that the existing
critical sewage disposal situation at the South end of the Lake, or
both sides of the State line, be corrected by e~porting treated sewage
from the Basin by the fall of 1965", and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District has committed
itself to construct facilities in order to export a high quality water into
water sheds outside of the Lake Basin by October 1, 1965, and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District feels that all
persons, firms or corporations, within the Lake Tahoe Basin, should be
committed to the same obligations for the preservation of Lake Tahoe waters
as we are, and
WHEREAS, E1 Dorado County should be the leading public entity in
seeing that the determinations as set forth by said Governor's on November
11, 1963, be expedited with due diligence; now
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the South
Tahoe Public Utility District, that the E1 Dorado County P%anning Commission
give serious consideration to the setting of standards for all subdivided lands
within its jurisdiction in the Lake Tahoe Basin for the proper collection,
treatment, and export of highly treated sewage effluent as has been imposed on
the people within the jurisdiction of the South Tahoe Public Utility District.
