Resolution No. 486Passed and adopted 'anuary 16, 1964 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT DECLARING ITS INTENT TO EXPORT SEWAGE EFFLUENT OUT OF THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN. WHEREAS, recent studies have indicated that land disposal methods now being employed within the LAKE TAHOE BASIN are not adequate to protect the purity of the Lake, and; WHEREAS, the South Shore of Lake Tahoe is suffering from an economic setback due to bad publicity, and; WHEREAS, the Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District have, with due diligence, worked to protect the purity of Lake Tahoe and the economy and well being of the residents and visitors of the South Shore, and; WHEREAS, the Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District intend to pursue the best solution for the sewage problem at the South Shore of Lake Tahoe within their jurisdiction and responsibility, now; THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District that they will make every effort~ possible to export sewage effluent, from the District's treatment plant, out of the Lake Tahoe Basin by the fall of 1965.
