RESOLUTION NO. 525
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
DECLARING INTENT TO ACCEPT NO FURTHER
SEPTIC TANK PUMPINGS FROM EL DOP~DO
COUNTY CAMP GROUND
WHEREAS, E1 Dorado County Camp Ground, A1 Tahoe, Cali-
fornia~ is within the boundaries of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY
DISTRICT; and
WHEREAS, said Camp Ground is included Within the 1959-1
Special Assessment District of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
and thereby has a sewer collection line service available for
connection of said Camp Ground to the sewerage service system of
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT; and
WHEREAS, said sewer service has been available to said
Camp Ground since 1961 and iE1 Dorado County has not caused to be
connected to the sewerage service system of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC
UTILITY DISTRICT said Camp Ground facilities; and
WHEREAS~ the leach lines of septic tank drainage of said
Camp Ground are only a short distance to the shores of Lake Tahoe;
and
WHEREAS, when a septic tank is required to be pumped
within the boundaries of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT and
sewer service is available to the property served by said septic
tank, the normal practice of the E1 Dorado County Health Officer i~
to require connection of the property served by said septic tank
required to be pumped~ to the sewerage service system of said SOUT}
TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT; and
WHEREAS, E1 Dorado County requested SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC
UTILITY DISTRICT to accept on an emergency-basis, all septic tank
pumpings from said Camp Ground during the 1964 season until said
Camp Ground was connected to the sewerage service system of SOUTH
TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT~ and SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC TUILITY
DISTRICT agreed to accept said septic tank pumpings at its sewage

treatment plant of said District; and
~HEREAS~ the quantity of the septic tank pumpings from
said Camp Ground is endangering the operation of the treatment
plant of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT; and
WHEREAS~ no construction of any facilities to connect
the E1 Dorado County Camp Ground to the sewerage service system of
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT has commenced and is now
contemplated during the coming fiscal year; and
~HERE~S~ no good cause has been shown why said facilities
to connect said Camp Ground to the sewerage service system of said
District have not been commenced or constructed or contemplated
during the 1964 - 1965 fiscal year;
N0W~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLFED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AS FOLLOWS:
1. That no furtbsr septic tank pumpings from E1 Dorado
County Camp Ground will be accepted by SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY
DISTRICT at its treatment plant or otherwise after September 15~
1964.
2o That the public health and safety require the
connection to the sewerage service system of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC
UTILITY DISTRICT of E1 Dorado County Camp Ground.
3. That the preservation of the quality and clarity of
the waters of Lake Tahoe require that said E1 Dorado County Camp
Ground be connected to the sewerage service system of SOUTH TAHOE
PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT°
~ That copies of said resolution be sent to Board of
Supervisors~ County of E1 Dorado~ State of California; Department
of Public Health~ State of California~ Lahontan Regional Water
Pollution Control Board; E1 Dorado County Health Department; E1
Dorado County ~ater Agency; and the Lake Tahoe Area Council.
