A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO CONGRESSMAN HAROLD T.
(BIZZ) JOHNSON FOR THE COURTESIES AND CONSIDERATIONS
SHOWN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS DURING THEIR MISSION TO
WASHINGTON, D.C. FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROCURING FEDERAL
FUNDS TO EXPEDITE AN EXPORT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, Congressman Harold T. (Bizz) Johnson, Member of Congress
of the United States has accomplished so many tasks for the best interests
and well being for so many people.
WHEREAS, Congressman Johnson took time from his busy schedule to
recognize the needs of the South Tahoe Public Utility District in its
program to protect this great natural beauty from pollution; and
WHEREAS, Congressman Johnson accepted the responsibility of
organizing a meeting between top level Administration in Washington, D.C.,
and the Directors and Engineer of the South Tahoe Public Utility District,
and
WHEREAS, through Congressman Johnson's many courtesies and
cooperative efforts a more complete understanding was attained between the
top level of Administration in regards to the Federal Governments participation
under Public Law 660 and Public Law 89-136 in which the South Tahoe Public
Utility District is so vitally interested.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT, County of E1 Dorado, State of California,
as follows:
1. The Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District
expresses its appreciation to United States Congressman Harold T. (Bizz)
Johnson for the many accomplishments to his credit.
2. The Board further expresses its appreciation to Congressman
Johnson for the many courtesies and cooperation extended them on their visit
to Washington D.C. during the week of October 11, 1965.
RESOLUTION NO. 598
3. The Board further expresses it appreciation for the
introductions to top level administrators in Washington, D.C. who could
be responsible for the successful conclusion of a program by the South
Tahoe Public Utility District to help protect the health and welfare of
this great basin.
4. That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Congressman
Johnson and copies released for the press, radio and television.
