RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTH
TAHOE FJBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT SETTING A ROUTE FOR
EXPORT OF RECLAIMED WATER OVER LUTHER PASS INTO
HOPE VALLEY ALPII~C~JNTY AND SETTING A DATE FOR THE
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
WHEREAS, Governor Brown of California and Governor Sawyer of
Nevada, did, on November 11, 1963 issue an order to export treated sewage effluent
from the Lake Tahoe Basin;and
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District, did, on
November 21, 1963 pass Resolution No. 479 declaring its intention to export
out of the Basin and setting a schedule so to do; and
WHEREAS, in the interimpimpossible situations precluded the
South Tahoe Public Utility District from carrying out the program; and
WHEREAS, these situations have presumably been made less
restrictive; and,
WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District has ascertained
that, for the best interests and economy of the District and proper development
of adjacent areas, an export system be constructed in a South Easterly direction
within California; and
WHEREAS, on July 28, 196~ the South Tahoe Public Utility
District, in compliance with Section 13054 of the Water Code of the State of
California, did file with the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board a
report on waste discharge in which we proposed to dispose of reclaimed waste
water from the South portion of Lake Tahoe into Hope Valley, AlpirmCounty; and
WHEREAS, on September 21, 1965~after reviewing the findings of its
staff, the Alpine County Health Department, the State Department of Public Health,
the State Department of Water Resources, the State Department of Fish and Game,
the U.S. Forest Service, the State of Nevada Department of Public Health and the
State of Nevada Department of Fish and Game and having heard those present and
desiring to be heard, the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board did
establish, in accordance with the authority granted by Division 7 of the Water
Code of the State of California a waste discharge requirement by Resolution 65-12
for the disposal of waste water by the South Tahoe Public Utility District.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT AS follows:
1. The South Tahoe Public Utility District will construct
an export system from its present plant to Hope Valley, Alpine County via
Luther Pass.
2. The District Engineers expedite the construction of
said export system by proceeding immediately with the project design and by
having plans and specifications ready for bid by April 1, 1966
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of
Directors of the South Tahoe Public Utility District on October 21, 1965,
by the following vote:
