RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS,
ESTABLISHING PREVAILING WAGE SCALE AND CALLING
FOR BIDS
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. U-1
RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of the South Tahoe Public
Utility District, E1 Dorado County, California, that
1. Plans and specifications for the construction of main
and branch trunk sewers, pumping stations and force mains, man-
holes and appurtenances in the District entitled, '~Myers Sewer
System", dated April, 1967, prepared by Clair A. Hill & Associates
Consulting Engineers, and on file in the office of the Secretary
of said District, be, and they are hereby, approved.
2. The wage scale as set forth in said specifications is
hereby established and adopted as the prevailing rate of per diem
wages for work of a similar character to that above described in
the locality in which such public work is proposed to be performed
3. Not less than said general prevailing rate of per diem
wages shall be paid for any work proposed to be performed in
said project.
4. Sealed proposals or bids are hereby called for the con-
struction of said improvements, all of said work to be done in
strict accordance with said plans and specifications.
5. Payments for said work to be done by the contractor shall
be made in cash by said District to the contractor on itemized
estimates duly certified and approved by the Consulting Engineers
and the Board of Directors of said District, based on labor and
materials performed and furnished by the contractor and incorpor-
ated into said work during the preceding month, but said District
shall retain ten Percent (10%) of the amount of each such estimate
and the accumulation of said amounts so retained from said pro-
gressive payments will be paid to said contractor thirty-five
(35) days after completion and acceptance of said work by said
Consulting Engineers and said Board.
6. The Secretary of said District is hereby directed to
publish once a week for two consecutive weeks in the Tahoe Tri-
bune, a newspaper of general circulation in E1 Dorado County, a
notice requesting bids for the construction of said improvements,
and referring to the plans, specifications and contract documents
on file in the office of the District Secretary.
7. Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified
or cashier's check payable to the order of the District amounting
to ten percent (10g) of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and
payable to said District, signed by the bidder and a corporate
surety or two individual sureties who shall justify before any
officer competent to administer an oath in double said amount and
over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be
forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said District in
case the bidder depositing the same does not, within ten (10)
days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to
him, enter into a contract with the District, the faithful per-
formance of which shall be secured by an undertaking in the amount
of one hundred percent (1005) of the amount so bid, with sureties
satisfactory to said Board, and which shall be accompanied by a
labor and material bond in a sum equal to fifty percent (505)
of the amount so bid, under the provisions of Chapter 3, compris-
ing Sections 4200 to 4208, inclusive, of the Government Code of
the State of California.
8. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the
Secretary of said District on or before 2:00 o~¢lock P.M. of the
25th day of May, 1967, at the office of the District, Treatment
Plant, Johnson Road, South Lake Tahoe, California. If bids are
mailed they should be addressed to the Board, Box AU, South Lake
Tahoe, California 95705. Bids will be publicly opened, examined
and declared on said day and hour and referred to and considered
by said Board at its meeting to be held at the regular meeting
place of said Board, City Hall, South Lake Tahoe, California,
on June 1, 1967, at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Plans and specifications and other contract documents
may be examined at the office of the District, Treatment Plant,
Johnson Road, South Lake Tahoe, California, and at the office of
Clair A. Hill and Associates, 1525 Court Street, Redding, Cali-
fornia. Plans and specifications may be obtained at the office
of said Clair A. Hill and Associates upon payment of $15.00 per
set, none of which shall be refunded.
