18021 - Remarks
Tahoe Paradise Water and Gas Company was purchased from
Myers Water Company in 1966. Diversion from the unnamed spring
under this permit was started in 1959. Two wells presently supply
the additional water requirements for the Company.
The storage portion (6 AFA) was not constructed and is no
longer planned, as the site was not available.
The actual place of use differs from the permitted place
of use, therefore a petition to change place of use is being pre-
pared along with an attached map.
Nearly all water available from the spring is used.
The point of diversion appeared as described in the permit.
A request for license is being prepared, as Mr. Baron stated that
the project is complete.
Other companion filings - 18030, 31, 38, 39 and 19629 are
for diversion of 14.33 cfs from the Upper Truckee River and. trib-
utaries.
Total appropriations allowed by D 1056 under these 6 per-
mits was limited to 345 acre-feet in any calendar month or 2,360
acre-feet in any year. Streamflow maintenance for fish is also a
requirement.
Hearings are anticipated on the Company's other filings. /
A request for change in point of diversion to Lake Tahoe and con- ,
solidation with Tahoe Keys, Angora and Gardner Mountain Water
Companies is part of the plan.
Flows of the Upper Truckee River recede during the summer
to a point that a sufficient supply under the Truckee River permits
is not always available. •
Application 23502 was filed May 7, 1970, by Gardner Moun-
tain Water Company for 14.33 cfs for diversion from Lake Tahoe.
The place of use covers the entire service area of the other water
companies which plan to consolidate. Applicant stated that he will
withdraw this filing if Tahoe Paradise Water and Gas'petitions for
change in point of diversion are approved.
