The Meyers Water Company is a corporation operating under
the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission of the State
of California. The company is required by law to maintain an
adequate water supply for its present customers and must project
its needs for an adequate domestic water supply over its entire
service area when such area is completely developed. The pop-
ulation of this service area has increased by 600% during the
past two years.
The area which eventually must be supplied with adequate do-
mestic water by the Meyers Water Company aggregates 2840 aeres.
It is estimated that this area will have a population of 10,000
persons by 1965 and a population of 25,000 persons by 1970.

It is earnestly believed that the need for adequate domes-
tic water should prevail over the vague abjections noted in
the protest by the California Department of Fish & Game. The
Truckee - Carson Irrigation District and the,Sierra Pacific
Power Co. use the -major portion of their water for irrigation and
power generation. It is inconceivable that such use could be
made the basis for depriving the Meyers Water Company of adequate
domestic water. The ashoe County Water .Conservation District
in its protest against the above numbered applications -cites .that
certain agreement known as "The Truckee River Agreement". It is
most evident that an alteration of that agreement will be made
as a part of the interstate water compact now being considered.
The Saxon Creek Corporation has protested only Application
No.#18021. This protest has been based on the possible purchase
by that corporation of 160 acres within the watershed of Saxon
Creek, and the possible developement of that tract for summer
cottages. The tract in question is surrounded by Forest Service
property and under the present policy of the E1 Dorado County
Planning Commission, development of this property will not be
allowed.
Yours very truly,
HAROLD S. P1 ESCOTT
