Baer General Manager/Engineer South Tahoe Public Utility District 1275 Meadow Crest Drive South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 Dear Mr. Baer: In Reply Refer To:342:LLA:18030 VARIOUS WATER RIGHTS IN LAKE TAHOE AREA IN EL DORADO COUNTY As follow up to our March 18, 1993 meeting, we are furnishing a list of water rights held by South Tahoe Public Utility District (District) and Lakeside Park Association (Lakeside) (see Enclosure 1). The District filed petitions on permitted Applications 18030, 18031, 18038, 18039, and 19629 for an extension of permit time and to change the place of use to include service areas of Tahoe Paradise Water and Gas Company, Angora Water Company, Gardner Mountain Water Company and Tahoe Keyes Water Company, and to change the point of diversion to a point at Lake Tahoe. Those petitions were noticed (see Enclosure 2) to interested parties on July 18, 1978. The petitions were protested and to date no action has been taken. Applications 23393 and 23502 were noticed (see Enclosure 3) on February 9, 1970 and August 7, 1970, respectively. Protests were filed and no action has been taken to date. Since permits have not been issued, water may not be diverted under Applications 23393 and 23502. License 10608 (Application 18021) has no pending actions but apparently is not being exercised by the District until a determination can be made for treatment options. The District filed petitions on Permit 10067 (Application 11993) for an extension of permit time, change in place of use and to add an additional point of diversion. The petitions were noticed (see Enclosure 4) on September 18, 1974, protests were received and no action has been taken to date. The District has on file Statement of Water Diversion and Use S-4677. This is apparently a claimed pre -1914 appropriative right. There is no pending action before the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board). SURNAME DWR See 07 _ 1 /FFBE I ¢-6" 93 3910E Mr. Robert G. Baer -2- Lakeside filed a petition on Permit 15421 (Application 22640) for an extension of permit time. The petition was noticed (see Enclosure 5) on October 9, 1974, a protest was received and no action has been taken to date. Lakeside has on file a Statement of Water Diversion and Use S-4713. This is apparently a claimed pre -1914 appropriative right. There is no pending action before the State Water Board. The existing permits on which petitions have been filed are still in effect and water can be diverted in accordance with the existing permits. However, none of the petitioned changes can be made until approved by the State Water Board. I trust this information will assist with your review of water rights held by the District and Lakeside.
