A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SOUTH
TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT CALLING FOR NOTICE
INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS FOR MECHANICAL
AERATION EQUIPMENT
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC
UTILITY DISTRICT, E1 Dorado County, California, as follows:
1. That the Board of Directors hereby calls for a Notice Inviting Sealed
Proposals or Bids for construction of MECHANICAL AERATION EQUIPMENT, con-
sisting of furnishing and installing three 25 - horse power mechanical aerators,
supporting structures and appurtenances, said Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals
or Bids to be in the form of Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. Said sealed proposals shall be received at the office of said District
in South Lake Tahoe, California, at the Treatment Plant thereof (Mailing address
P.O. BoxAU, South Lake Tahoe, California 95705), until 2:00 P.M. on Iune 4th,
1968, at which time all proposals shall be publicly opened and read.
PASSED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of Directors
of the SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT on the 2nd day of May, 1968,

NOTICE'INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTiLiTY DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that South Tahoe Public Utility District,
E1 Dorado County, California, will receive up to, but not later than
2:00 p.m. of the 4th day of June, 1968, sealed proposals or bids for
furnishing and installing three 25-horsepower mechanical a~rators,
supporting structures, and all necessary appurtenances complete in
the existing aeration basin at the South Tahoe Public Utility District
Waste Treatment Facility in strict accordance with the Plans and
Specifications therefor entitled, "Mechanical Aeration Equipment,"
dated May 1968,'prepared by. Clair A. Hill & Associates, Consulting
Engineers, and on file in the office of the Secretary of said
District.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the Secretary of
said District, Treatment Plant, Johnson Road, South Lake Tahoe,
California. If bids are mailed, they should be addressed to the
Board, Box AU, South Lake Tahoe, California 95705. Bids will be
publicly opened, examined, and declared on said day and hour, and
referred to and considered by the Board of Directors of said District
at its meeting to be held at the regular meeting place of said Board,
Treatment Plant, South Lake Tahoe, California, on June 6, 1968, at
8:00 p.m.
Each bid shall be in accordance with said Plans, Specifications, and
other Contract Documents now on file in the office of the District
Secretary, Treatment Plant, Johnson Road, South Lake Tahoe, California.
Said proposals or bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed
"South Tahoe Public Utility District" and endorsed "Proposal for
Mechanical Aeration Equipment."
Ail proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's
check payable to the' order of the District amounting to 20 percent of
the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said District,
signed by the Bidder and a corporate admitted surety or two indi-
vidual sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to
administer an' oath, in double said amount, and over and above all
statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond
shall become payable to said District in case the bidder depositing
the same does not, within 10 days after written notice that the
Contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the
District, the faithful performance of which shall be secured by an
undertaking in the amount of 100 percent of the amount so bid, with
sureties satisfactory to the said Board of Directors, and which shall
be accompanied by a labor and material bond in a sum equal to 50
percent of the amount of said bid, under the provisions of Chapter 3,
comprising Sections 4200 to 4208 inclusive, of the Government Code
of the State of California.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code,
State of California, the South Tahoe Public Utility District has
ascertained the general prevailing wage rates to be as shown on the
copy of the wage scale which is attached hereto and is contained in
and ~de a part of the Specifications for said work, to which refer-
ence is hereby made for a full and detailed description thereof.
The Board reserves the privilege of rejecting any and all bids or
to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid or in the
bidding.
No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 45 days after the
date set for the opening of bids.
Plans and Specifications, and other Contract Documents, may be
examined at the office of the District, Treatment Plant, Johnson
Road, South Lake Tahoe, California, and at the office of Clair A.
Hill & Associates, 1525 Court Street, Redding, California. Plans
and Specifications may be obtained at the office of said Clair A.
Hill & Associates.
