Operational Problems and Major Maintenance Activities
October— December 2015
Wastewater Treatment Facilities
• The rehabilitation project continues on Primary Clarifier#2 and Aeration Basin
#1.
• In the preliminary treatment process we have modified the grit and screenings
processing equipment to bag the discharged material. This was done in an effort
to reduce odors.
Wastewater Conveyance System
• Pump Stations:
o Installation of refurbished pump in the Tahoe Keys Sewer Pump Station
o New 250 KW back up power supply Gen-Set installed in the Bijou Sewer
Pump Station
o New 250 KW backup power supply gen-set installed in the Stanford Camp
collection system
o Conversion of Fallen Leaf Sewer Pump Station #6 from vacuum to electric
submersible pump system
• Collection System:
o Replaced 400+ feet of 6" sewer main on Osgood Street behind Chevy's
restaurant and World Mark Motel.
Alpine County Disposal Facilities
• The District's Diamond Valley Ranch Irrigation Improvements Project, Phase 1
(DVRIIP) broke ground on October 22, 2015. Thus far, Thomas Haen Company
(Haen) has installed a great deal of water pipe: 6024LF of 18" diameter pipe,
838LF of 24" diameter pipe, and 80LF of 10" diameter pipe. Haen has also
constructed the concrete diversion structure, and installed two concrete vaults as
required for the project. DVRIIP is projected to be completed in the spring of
2017.
