Subject: Verizon Accident
I’m sorry to report that the auger operator working on the Verizon cell tower foundation behind the boneyard was killed
in an accident this morning. Apparently an equipment failure caused a head injury and subsequent fall into the
excavation which was over 20 feet deep at the time. Connolly Crane was onsite to assist City Fire in the rescue. The
injured operator was taken to Barton and no care flight was completed. We will provide more information when we can.
