Hi all,
Just to share for our information should it ever come up, during the preconstruction meeting with Verizon and the
contractor I asked about 5G. They confirmed there are no plans to have 5G at this location at this time. Such a hot topic
lately so I was pleased to get that information.

In the external email I would change “operator“ to “contractor”

Subject: Verizon Accident
Hi team,
Below is proposed information to share with South Tahoe Now and our staff regarding the accident.
To South Tahoe Now:
South Tahoe Public Utility leases a 35x45 foot piece of land off Al Tahoe Boulevard to Verizon. Verizon is
currently constructing a cell phone tower at this location (there is no 5G currently planned for this site).
I’m not sure this is correct or should be mentioned.
At around 10am on Thursday, May 28, 2020, there was an accident on the construction site where an
operator working for Verizon was injured. South Lake Tahoe Fire Department responded and the injured
operator was transported to Barton. No District staff was involved in the accident. For more

information, contact South Lake Tahoe Fire Department or JFC Construction, Operations Manager, David

To STPUD employees:
Good afternoon everyone,
As many of you know, Verizon leases a piece of District land behind the bone yard and is currently
constructing a cell‐phone tower. At around 10am this morning there was an accident on the Verizon
construction site where an operator working for Verizon was injured. South Lake Tahoe Fire Department
responded and the injured operator was transported to Barton. My heart goes out to the operator, his
family, and all of those who were on‐site at the time. No District staff was involved in the
accident. Construction work has significant risks and can be dangerous. As we enter construction season
I want to encourage everyone to be extra careful on jobsites this summer. We will share more
information when we can.
