Arrived onsite at 7:45 Vinciguerra crew setting up to place tie in’s at Glenwood/Ferndale, Glenwood/Cloverdale,
and connecting services on Glenwood/Cloverdale
A Cat 304D was used to dig the trench for the new tie in locations as well as the services.
The crew placed fittings for tie in and secured tracer wire with tape, then wrapped in plastic and placed concrete
for thrust blocks according to drawing specifications as well as 9” min sand around service connections.
Tie In’s were completed at 3:00 and crew began backfill. I asked Wayne if water could be turned back on so I can
check for leaks and he said yes.
I called JP with STPUD and requested water to be turned back on.
No sign of leaking was found.
After backfill and compaction base and native was found to be firm and non yielding.
Vinciguerra crew placed 9 services on Cloverdale, 3 on Ferndale, and 1 on Glenwood/Cloverdale
After turning water back on 3535 Ferndale ave previous main valve was not functioning and would not turn off.
Vinciguerra crew clamped off the 3/4 poly from the valve and placed a curb stop so stop the flow.
