Arrived onsite at 8:00am and found that the Vinciguerra crew continued to prep for asphalt placement along with prepping for concrete pour as well. Tahoe Asphalt made 4.46 tons of product ID # 2000 1/2” HMA that the contractor trucked to the site for placement. The mix was placed at various locations on the 2 projects. Driveways and meter patches were paved. The contractor also worked to raise the remaining valves as they are hoping for concrete today. Sierra Tahoe Ready Mix delivered 5 yards of D70AC a 4000 psi mix to the site to be placed as valve collars. A total of 20 were poured on the projects, the locations can be found in this report. The contractor also placed the last service today as he tied in the service at the intersection of Forest and Bowers. This service supplies the TRI Plex on Shirley. A walk through was performed with Adrian from STPUD on the Bowers side of the project to prepare a punch list for the contractor. A list had been requested by the contractor so they could get started on it. Taylor with STPUD came to site and began to measure up paving quantities, he worked mostly on the Bowers side today. At the Cold Creek project the Haen crew continued the excavation for the new 8” PVC waterline. They started approximately 8’ west of the high pressure gas line that runs along Pioneer Trail north/south with the new water running west of Pioneer Trail. The crew was using a Cat 315F excavator for trench and had a Cat 928 G loader that used in the backfill process. The trench spoils were deemed unfit to be used as backfill and were trucked offsite. The contractor was going to use aggregate base for backfill all the way up. With a jumping jack whacker and compaction wheel attached to a 308E excavator for compaction efforts. Density testing was performed with the results in this report. The crew worked on the water service along with the hydrant, both on the south side of the new mainline. 5.5’ of 8” pipe was placed today that took them to the 90 (2-45 degree fittings bolted together) where 17’ of 6” was placed into the hydrant. Concrete was placed as a kicker behind hydrant prior to backfill.
