DEFINITIONS. Unless the context requires 8 o~i~e~:ise, tile follo%.ing terms shall have the following meanings: 9 "District" shall mean South Tahoe Public Utility 10 District, County of E1 Dorado, State of California. 11 "Board" shall mean the board of directors of the lZ District. 13 "President" shall mean the president of the Board. 14 "Secretary" shall mean the clerk and ex officio 1§ secretary of the Board. 16 Section 2. MEETING PLACE. Ail regular meetings of ~he 17 Board shall be held at the general offices of the District, lo- 18 cated at the corner of U. S. Highway No. 50 and Beach Boulevard, 19 ~ithin the District. 20 Section 3. TI}~ OF MEETINGS. Regular meetings of the ~1 Board shall be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of every 9'2 month, commencing at 2:00 o'clock P.M.; provided, however, that ~$ should said day fall upon a legal holiday, then said meeting shall Z4 be held at the same time on the next day thereafter ensuing which ~§ is not a legal holiday. Section 4. SPECIAL MEETINGS. Special meetings of the Z? Board may be called at any tiu~ by the president, or by a majority ~6 of the Board. Written notice of the time and place of such special 29 shall be delivered personally or by mail to each member of $0 the Board and to each local newspaper of general circulation, radi 31 or television station requesting notice in writing at least twent' 32 four (24) hours before the time of such meeting as specified in / 1 / T~s: ,:~1 ~,~ ~ ,l ,, _: :,l~aLi specify the time and place of i~ :,1, cial ~,,:~ti~.l, ~,~d tl~ ou~il~ess to be transacted. Such waiver ~y be gtven by telegram. Such written notice ~y also be dispensed wt~ to any me~er who is actually present at the ~eti~ at the ti~ it convenes. Section 5. ~JO~ED ~ETINGS. ~e Board ~y adjou~ ~l~ly regular, adjourned regular, special or adjou~ed special ~et- iuD to a time and place specified in the order of adjou~nt. Less than a quorum ~y so adjourn from tt~ to tt~. If all members are absent from any regular or adjourned regular the clerk or secretary of the Board ~y declare the ~eting ad- journed to a stated time and place and he shall cause a ~itten notlce of the adjouLmment to be given in the aa~ ~nner as pro- vided in Section 4 hereof for special ~eti~s, unless such no:ice is waived, as provided for special ~eti~$. When a regular or adjou~ed regular meeting is adjourned as provided in this section, the resulting adjourned regular meeting ia a regular ~et. lng for all purposes. (A~en an order of adjou~nt of any ~eting fails to state the hour at which the adjou~ed ~eti~ is to be held, it shall be held at the hour specified for regular ~etinga ~ by this ordinance. Section~. PUBLIC ~ETINGS. All ~eti~s of the Board 27~ shall be open and public, and all persons shall be pe~itted to 28~ attend any meetin~ of the Board except as provi~d in Section 5495~ 29' ~o $1 $2 of the Government Code of the State of California. Section 7. ORDER OF BUSINESS. Section 8. SEVERABILITY. If any article, section, sub- section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance, or the ap- plication thereof to any person or circumstance, is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance or the application of such provisions to other persons or circum- stances. The Board hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance, or any article, section, sub-section, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more articles, sections, sub-sections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared to be unconstitutional. Section 9. REPEALS. All ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed. Section 10. POSTING, PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. ~pon adoption, this ordinance shall be posted in three (3) public ~laces in the District, at least seven (7) days prior to the ex- ,iration of thirty (30) days from the date of its passage, and ;hall be published in the IAKE TAHOE NEWS, a newspaper of general airculation printed and published in the District, at least seven (7) days prior to thirty (30) days from the date of its passage, ~nd shall take effect upon the expiration of thirty (30) days from the date of its adoption.
