Crew began removing trench plates for hot tap at Saddle Rd and Keller Rd. Alden arrived and began setting up his hot tap machine. Per STPUD, Alden used a 5-1/2” drill bit to tap the 10” water main and a 4-3/8” to tap the 6” water main. After hot tapping was complete the crew excavated the trench for the dry hydrant. They also dug out the storm drain and verified its pipe location so they could best avoid it during excavation. Buck noticed the dry hydrant had a 4” outlet and their pumping station runs off a 6” pipe. He verified with STPUD office that this would be acceptable. Crew placed base in trench and compacted before placing pipe. Then they placed pipe in a polyethylene encasement and placed pipe in trench. Crew placed a 6” to 4” reducer then 10’ of 4” DI pipe then connected a 45 elbow and placed 34’ of 4” DI pipe. Plan to see hydrant tomorrow. Crew then backfilled with base and native. I performed a density test of base in center of roadway. Density test was acceptable. Crew then backfilled with native and I performed a density test on native at center of roadway. Density was acceptable. The crew then backfilled last 12” with base and put 3” of temporary asphalt to level with road grade. Crew then cleaned up job site and made sure all environmental controls were in place before the weekend. Another White Rock crew also excavated for hydrant line at the bottom of tank road. They excavated the trench to hydrant location and hand dug out the T-Valve and cleaned for connection. Then placed base and compacted. Crew then placed 14’ of 6” DI pipe and hydrant. They placed concrete thrust block behind hydrant and backfilled with base. I performed a density test on base 4’ away from T-Valve. Density was acceptable. Crew then backfilled with native and replaced drain rock along side road. White Rock crew: George, Les, Edwardo, Steven, German, Trey, Alex, Jake, Richard, and Dwight. Equipment onsite: CAT 305 ex, CAT 309 ex, CAT 928 loader, 2-10 wheel dump truck, 2-1 ton truck, 4 trench plates, 4 shores. JVL____ AM PM 2 DocuSign Envelope ID: 02A1F311-B2DE-416E-B521-7AE0D84558D8
