George, Les, and crew White Rock Construction
I arrived onsite and met with George and Les.
Crew began excavating for new water line from STA 10+40 to STA 11+00.
Crew discovered large rocks in their excavation and used boulder buster to break up large rock that excavator
couldn’t move.
Crew removed 22 yards of rock excavation.
After excavating the trench crew began placing 8” DR-18 pipe with restrained connections.
Crew opened up 50’ of trench and placed 90’ of DR-18 8” pipe (all restrained connections). 1 - T-Valve, 1 - 11.25
elbow. The two parallel pipe were spaced 1’ minimum apart
After placing pipe crew placed tracer wire, painted all exposed fittings with mastic, and pumped any standing water
out of trench, then backfilled with base and compacted.
I performed density testing of base at STA 10+60, compaction was acceptable.
Crew then backfilled 1 lift of native to T-Valve, then checked all environmental controls and cleaned site before
leaving.
White rock crew: George, Les, Edwardo, Steven, German, Trey, Alex, Jake, Richard, and Dwight.
Equipment onsite: Cat 305 ex, Cat 309 ex, Cat 928 loader, 10 wheel dump truck, 1 ton truck, 1 ton truck, 4 trench
plates, 4 shores, IR Air Co press or 250.
