Crew began Backfilling remainder of trench at STA 10+40 to 11+00, After crew compacted native fill I performed a density test at station 10+80. Compaction was acceptable. Crew then began excavating trench from STA 11+00 to 11+30. Crew discovered more large rocks and used boulder blasters to breakup large rocks into movable sizes. After excavation the crew placed 32’ of DR-18 8” pipe, and 2 - 22.5 elbows. The two parallel pipe were spaced 1’ min apart. Crew then placed tracer wire and connected restraints to connections and painted exposed fittings with mastic. Then the crew began to place base fill and compact. I performed a density test at STA 11+10. Compaction was acceptable. Top foot of native will be re compacted before laying new pavers. Another white rock crew was also working at saddle dr and Keller dr starting excavation for tapping saddle connection. Crew cut asphalt and excavated around existing utilities clearing around water pipe for tapping saddle connection. After uncovering the water main the crew noticed the pipe size was 6.9 and their tapping saddle max size is 6.25. Jake is looking for a correct size tapping saddle. Buck with STPUD uncovered a sewer man hole 3’ north east of the trench and discovered a water PRV. He reported to STPUD office and they are looking into it. White rock crew discovered a 6” steel water pipe and a 4” steel water pipe running through the trench. STPUD plans to bring a band tomorrow for pipes so white rock crew can test if they are live. I reviewed the plans with George and Trevor and the service drain at saddle and Keller has been delegated and replaced with a dry hydrant. Pass Robles water tank crew also arrived and began unbolting floor on new water tank and preparing to replace floor.
