AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
162, PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION,
BENEFITS AND WORKING CONDITIONS FOR
ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC
UTILITY DISTRICT
PUBLIC UTILI~rY DISTRICT,
as follows:

BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Directors of SOUTH TAHOE
County of E1 Dorado, State of California,
That Subsection (a) of Section 5 - GENERAL SALARY
.ADJUSTMENTS-of Ordinance No. 162 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
The General Manager shall conduct an
annual salary study, the study shall
include the national average cost of living
increase or decrease, and shall recommend
to the Board of Directors such salary adjust-
ments as he considers appropriate. The Board
of Directors shall determine the appropriate
adjustments, if any, and include them in the
Annual Salary Resolution.
That Subsection (a) of Section 22 - VACATION LEAVE
WITH PAY - is hereby amended to read as follows:
Vacation with pay shall be earned by regular
employees based on the equivalent of full
time service from the date of appointment.
1. Vacation credit shall accrue to the
employee on the first of the month following
that in which it is earned.
2. All employees who have less than three
years of service shall accrue vacation on the
basis of 5/6 day of each full month of service.
All employees who have more than three but less
than eleven years of service shall accrue vacation
on the basis of 1-1/4 days for each full month of
service.
All employees who have more than eleven years of
service shall accrue vacation on the basis of 1-2/3
days for each full month of service.
Vacation may be accumulated to a maximum of two
years service on any accrual date.
That Subsection (b) of Section 23 - SICK LEAVE WITH PAY -
of Ordinance No. 162 is hereby amended by addition of
paragraph 7, 8 and 9, to read as follows:
7. Upon retirement a regular employee
shall be paid accumulated sick leave to a
maximum of 1,040 hours. Retirement is
termination of employment at age 62 or older·
8. Upon termination of employment, after
12 years of service, an employee shall be
paid 50To of accumulated sick leave to a
maximum of 520 hours, except as provided
in Subsection 7 above.
9. Upon death of an employee, the beneficiary
shall be paid accumulated sick leave to a
maximum of 1,040 hours.
That Section 36 - EMPLOYMENT- of Ordinance No. 162 is
hereby amended by addition of Subsection (b) to read as follows:
Job openings to be posted one week in plant before
being publicized throughout the District.

This ORDINANCE amends Sections 5 a., 22 a., 23 b., and 36
of ORDINANCE NO. 162 as amended by ORDINANCE NOS. 174,
201, and 203 of SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT. In
all other respects said ORDINANCE NO. 162, passed and adopted
by the Board of Directors of said District on February 15, 1968,
as amended by ORDINANCE NO. 174, passed and adopted on
August 15, 1968, ORDINANCE NO. 201, passed and adopted on
August 6, 19?0, and ORDINANCE NO. 203, passed and adopted
on October 15, 1970,is.hereby ratified, confirmed and in full
force and effect.
This ORDINANCE shall take effect upon the expiration of thirty
(30) days after its passage and shall be posted by the Clerk of
SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT at three (3) public
places in said DISTRICT at least one week before the expiration
of said per[od after its passage and shall further be published
tn the Tahoe Daily Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation,
one (1) time only', at least one (1) week before 'the expiration
of said period.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a duly meeting of the Board of
Directors of the SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT on June 17,
