AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 250
ESTABLISHING RULES FOR WATER SERVICE,
WATER RATES, OPERATION, METHODS FOR
ENFORCEMENT
BE IT ENACTED, by the Board of Directors of the South
Tahoe Public Utility District, E1 Dorado County, California, as
follows:
1. That subsection 7,6 of Ordinance No. 250 as amended
by Ordinance No. 261 is amended as follows:
SCHEDULE IV
SERVICE CHARGES
For each disconnection and/or reconnection of a water
service by request, other than for public health and safety, or
for non-payment of account, during regular working hours - $10.00.
For reconnection or disconnection of a water service
when reconnected or disconnected by request or for non-payment
of account, after regular working hours, Saturdays, Sundays, and
Holidays (per service call) - $20.00.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. The minimum diameter for fire protection
service shall be 2 inches and the maximum
diameter shall not be larger than the di-
ameter of the main to which the service is
connected.
2. If a distribution main of adequate size to
serve a fire protection connection, in ad-
dition to ali other normal service, does not
exist in the street adjacent to the premises
to be served hereunder, then a service main
from the nearest existing main of adequate
capacity shall be installed by the District
at the cost of the applicant. The amounts
paid by the applicant hereunder to establish
fire protection service shall not be subject
to refund.
3. Connections for private fire protection sys-
tems shall be equipped with standard detector
type meters approved by the Board of Fire
Underwriters and the cost of the meter and
appurtenant structures shall be paid, without
refund, by the applicant.
4. For water delivered for other than fire protection
purposes, charges will be made at the quantity
rates under the seasonal metered service sc!]edule.
2. That Section 4 Installation of Service Connections
and/or Metering Devices of Ordinance No. 250 is amended by the ad-
ditional subsections 4~2 and 4.3 as follows;
4.2 Any person requesting water service who previously
was served by a private well and is to connect to
a District service line must pay a $25.00 fee for
a back-flow prevention device in conformance with
health and safety requirements.
4.3 It shall be the responsibility of the property
owner to see that any abandoned well is properly
sealed and capped in conformance with health and
safety requirements.
3. This Ordinance adds subsections 4.2 and 4.3 and amends
subsection 7.6 of Ordinance No. 250 as amended by Ordinances Nos.
257, 261, 269 and 276. In all other respects, said Ordinances Nos.
250, 257, 261, 267 and 276 are ratified, confirmed and in full force
and effect.
4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon the expiration
of thirty (30) days after its passage and shall be posted by the
Clerk of the SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT at three (3) public
places in said District at least one (1) week before the expiration
of said period after its passage and shall further be published in
the Tahoe Daily Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation, one (1)
time at least one (1) week before the expiration of said period.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of April 1979 by the
following votes:
