AN ORDINANCE OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
SUPERCEDING IN THEIR ENTIRETY ORDINANCE NUMBERS
3, 16, 30, 32, 41, 45, 49, 70, 95, 128, AND 157
AND PROVIDING FOR TIME, PLACE AND RULES FOR REGULAR
AND SPECIAL MEETINGS
Section 1. DEFINITIONS. Unless the context requires
otherwise, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
"DISTRICT" shall mean South Tahoe Public Utility District,
County of E1 Dorado, State of California;
"BOARD" shall mean the board of directors of the District;
"CHAIRMAN" shall mean the chairman of the Board;
"SECRETARY" shall mean the clerk and ex officio
secretary of the Board.
Section 2. MEETING PLACE. Ail regular meetings of
the Board shall be held at the City of South Lake Tahoe Council
Chambers located at 1900 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake
Tahoe, California.
Section 3. TIME OF MEETINGS. Regular meetings of
the Board shall be held on the first and third Thursdays of
every month, commencing at 4:00 o'clock p.m., provided however,
that should any such day fall upon a legal holiday, then said
meeting shall be held at the same time on the next day thereafter
ensuing, which is not a legal holiday.
Section 4. SPECIAL MEETINGS. Special meetings of
the Board may be ordered at any time by the Chairman or a
majority of the Board. Written notice of the time and place
of such special meetings shall be delivered personally or
by mail to each member of the Board, and to each local news-
paper of general circulation, radio, or television station,
requesting notice in writing, and shall be received at least

twenty-four (24) hours before the time of the meeting.
Section 5. ADJOURNED MEETINGS. The Board may adjourn
any regular, adjourned regular, special, or adjourned special
meeting to a time and place specified in the order of adjournment.
Less than a quorum may adjourn from time to time. If all
members are absent from any regular meeting, the clerk or
secretary of the Board may declare the meeting adjourned to
a stated time and place, and he or she shall cause a written
notice of the adjournment to be posted within twenty-four
(24) hours after the time of adjournment on or near the door
of the meeting place. If no time is specified, the meeting
is adjourned until the time of the next regular meeting.
Section 6. EMERGENCY MEETINGS. Emergency meetings
of the Board may be declared by a majority of its members.
An emergency situation is defined to include a work stoppage
or other activity, and a crippling disaster, which severely
impairs public health, safety, or both, as determined by a
majority of the Board. In such cases, telephonic notice shall
be provided to local newspapers of general circulation and
radio or television stations one hour prior to the meeting
unless telephonic services are not functioning. In the event
that telephonic services are not functioning, notice must
be given as soon after the meeting as possible. The minutes
of the meeting, a list of the persons notified or attempted
to be notified, a copy of a roll call vote, and any actions
taken at such meeting shall be posted for a minimum of ten
days in a public place as soon after the meeting as possible.
The Board shall not meet in executive session during an

emergency meeting.
Section 7. PUBLIC MEETINGS. All meetings of the
Board shall be open and public, and all persons shall be permitted
to attend any meeting of the Board except as provided in Section
54957 of the Government Code of the State of California.
Section 8. SEVERABILITY. If any article, section,
subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance,
or the application thereof to any person or circumstance,
is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this ordinance or the application of such provisions
to other persons or circumstances. The Board hereby declares
Ithat it would have passed this ordinance, or any article,
section, sub-section, sentence, clause or phrase hereof,
irrespective of the fact that any one or more articles, sections,
sub-sections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared to
be unconstitutional.
Section 9. REPEALS. All ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed. Ordinance numbers 3, 16, 30, 32, 41,
45, 49, 70, 95, 128 and 157 are superceded in their entirety
by this ordinance number 438.

Tahoe Public Utility District at its regular meeting on the
17th day of October , 1991, by the following vote:
